Jaitrya-nimitta: Signs of Prospective Victory and the Priority of Conciliation (जयलक्षण-निमित्त तथा सान्त्व-प्रधान नीति)
गम्भीरशब्दाक्ष महास्वनाश्न शड्खाश्न भेर्यश्व॒ नदन्ति यत्र । युयुत्सवश्चाप्रतीपा भवन्ति जयस्यैतद् भाविनो रूपमाहु:,जहाँ शंखोंकी गम्भीर ध्वनि और रणभेरीकी ऊँची आवाज फैल रही हो, युद्धकी इच्छा रखनेवाले सैनिक सर्वथा अनुकूल हों तो वहाँके लिये इसे भी भावी विजयका सूचक शुभ लक्षण कहा गया है
bhīṣma uvāca | gambhīra-śabdāś ca mahā-svanāś ca śaṅkhāś ca bheryaś ca nadanti yatra | yuyutsavaś cāpratīpā bhavanti jayasya etad bhāvino rūpam āhuḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Nơi nào tù và vang trầm hùng và trống trận gầm rền, nơi những chiến binh khát khao giao chiến đều thuận lòng, vững dạ, không nao núng—người ta nói đó là điềm lành, là hình tướng báo hiệu chiến thắng sắp đến.”
