जनकस्य युद्धोपदेशः — Janaka’s Instruction on Steadfast Battle-Conduct
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्याभारत शान्तिपर्वके अन्तर्गत राजधमनुशासनपर्वमें इन्द्र और अम्बरीषका संवादविषयक अद्दानबेवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ ॥/ ९८ ॥ (दाक्षिणत्य अधिक पाठके २३६ शलोक मिलाकर कुछ ७४ ३ “लोक हैं) नजीब न (0) आज अन+- नवनवतितमो< ध्याय: शूरवीरोंको स्वर्ग और कायरोंको नरककी प्राप्तिके विषयमें मिथिलेश्वर जनकका इतिहास भीष्म उवाच अत्राप्युदाहरन्तीममितिहासं पुरातनम् । प्रतर्दनो मैथिलश्न संग्रामं यत्र चक्रतु:
bhīṣma uvāca |
atrāpy udāharantīmam itihāsaṁ purātanam |
pratardano maithilaś ca saṅgrāmaṁ yatra cakratuḥ ||
Bhīṣma nói: “Thưa Đại vương, ngay trong việc này, các bậc học giả vẫn dẫn một điển tích cổ xưa. Điển tích ấy kể rằng đã có một thời, Pratardana và Janaka—chúa tể xứ Mithilā—đã giao chiến với nhau.”
