Kurukṣetra–Samantapañcaka Māhātmya: King Kuru’s Ploughing and Indra’s Boon (प्रजापतेरुत्तरवेदिः समन्तपञ्चकं)
तथेति सा प्रतिश्रुत्य तस्मै पार्णिं ददौ तदा,तब “बहुत अच्छा” कहकर उसने मुनिके हाथमें अपना हाथ दे दिया। फिर गालवपुत्रने शास्त्रोक्त रीतिसे विधिपूर्वक अग्निमें हवन करके उसका पाणिग्रहण और विवाह-संस्कार किया
tatheti sā pratiśrutya tasmai pārṇiṁ dadau tadā
Nàng đáp: “Xin vâng,” rồi trao tay mình cho ông như một lời thuận nhận. Bấy giờ, con trai của Gālava theo đúng điều răn của śāstra, dâng lễ vật vào lửa thiêng và hoàn tất nghi thức nắm tay cùng lễ cưới—đầy đủ phép tắc.
वैशम्पायन उवाच
The verse foregrounds dharma in domestic life: a woman’s explicit assent (“tatheti”) is followed by the śāstra-prescribed marriage rites, showing that ethical legitimacy arises from both consent and proper ritual procedure, with Agni as witness.
She agrees and gives her hand; then Galava’s son performs the required fire-offerings and completes the formal hand-taking and marriage sacrament, thereby solemnizing the union according to tradition.
