तपश्चचार सात्युग्रं नियमैर्बहुभिर्वृता । भर्ता मे देवराज: स्यादिति निश्चित्य भामिनी
tapaś cacāra sātyugraṁ niyamair bahubhir vṛtā | bhartā me devarājaḥ syād iti niścitya bhāminī ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Với nhiều giới luật nghiêm khắc, người thiếu phụ đầy nhiệt tâm ấy đã thực hành khổ hạnh vô cùng dữ dội. Nàng chỉ định một mục tiêu: “Nguyện Đế Thích (Indra), vua của chư thiên, trở thành phu quân của ta.”
