उदारबुद्धि महासेनने उस दैत्यपर भी आक्रमण किया। तब वह कार्तिकेयके भयसे क्रौंच पर्वतकी शरणमें जा छिपा ।।
tataḥ krauñcaḥ mahāmanyuḥ krauñcanādanināditam | śaktyā bibheda bhagavān kārtikeyo 'gnidattayā ||
Rồi Đức Kārtikeya, bừng bừng cơn thịnh nộ lớn, dùng ngọn giáo śakti do Agni ban tặng mà bổ toang núi Krauñca—ngọn núi vang dội tiếng kêu của loài chim krauñca. Qua đó thấy rằng quyền năng thần linh, khi được dẫn dắt bởi mục đích chính nghĩa, có thể phá tan cả những nơi ẩn náu tưởng như bất khả xâm phạm che chở cho kẻ tàn hại.
