Vaiśampāyana nói: Vị đại hiền triết ấy, bị cơn đau giày vò, lại mắc chứng lở loét hôi thối, mủ dịch rỉ ra—một hình ảnh cho thấy sự mục rữa của thân xác và khổ đau có thể đi kèm những giờ khắc nặng nề nhất sau chiến cuộc, nhắc người nghe về cái giá khắc nghiệt và tỉnh thức đạo lý của bạo lực.
