Trita in the Well (Udapāna-kathā) — Balarāma’s Tīrtha Observances
इस प्रकार श्रीमह्या भारत शल्यपवके अन्तर्गत गदापवमें बलरामजीका आगमनविषयक चौंतीसवाँ अध्याय पूरा हुआ,ततो महात्मा नियमे स्थितात्मा पुण्येषु तीर्थेषु वसूनि राजन् | ददौ द्विजेभ्य: क्रतुदक्षिणा श्र यदुप्रवीरो हलभृत् प्रतीत: राजन! यदुकुलके प्रमुख वीर हलधारी महात्मा बलराम नियमपूर्वक रहकर प्रसन्नताके साथ पुण्यतीथोमें ब्राह्मगोंको धन और यज्ञकी दक्षिणाएँ देते थे
tato mahātmā niyame sthitātmā puṇyeṣu tīrtheṣu vasūni rājan | dadau dvijebhyaḥ kratudakṣiṇāś ca yadūpravīro halabhṛt pratītaḥ ||
Sañjaya nói: Rồi bấy giờ, Balarāma bậc đại hồn—kiên định trong lời nguyện, tự chế nơi tâm—đi qua các bến thiêng hành hương (tīrtha); và tâu Đại vương, ngài hoan hỷ ban phát của cải cho các Bà-la-môn, cùng lễ phí tế tự (dakṣiṇā). Thế là vị anh hùng mang cày, bậc danh tiếng đứng đầu dòng Yadu, vẫn an nhiên mãn nguyện mà giữ trọn bổn phận đạo lý của sự bố thí và nghi lễ đúng phép, dù quanh mình là cơn biến động lớn của chiến tranh.
