मदर्थे प्रतियुद्धयेतां मानाहौँ सत्यसड्रौ । मां वा शल्यो रणे हन्ता त॑ वाहं भद्गमस्तु व:

Transliteration

madarthe pratiyuddhyetāṁ mānārhau satyasaṅgarau | māṁ vā śalyo raṇe hantā taṁ vāhaṁ bhadram astu vaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya nói: “Vì ta, hãy để Nakula và Sahadeva—xứng đáng được tôn vinh, kiên định trong lời thề—giao chiến với người cậu bên ngoại trên chiến địa, đặt kṣatriya-dharma làm đầu. Rồi hoặc Śalya sẽ giết ta giữa trận, hoặc chính ta sẽ giết ông ta. Nguyện phúc lành đến với các ngươi.”
