धर्मराजस्तथा षष्ट्या गात्रे शल्यं समार्पयत्‌ । तत्पश्चात्‌ भीमसेनने सत्तर, सात्यकिने नौ और धर्मराज युधिष्ठिरने साठ बाणोंसे शल्यके शरीरको चोट पहुँचायी

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca | dharmarājas tathā ṣaṣṭyā gātre śalyaṃ samārpayat | tatpaścāt bhīmasenena saptatyā sātyakine navabhiḥ dharmarājā yudhiṣṭhirena ṣaṣṭyā bāṇaiḥ śalyasya śarīraṃ samāhatam |

Translation

Sañjaya thưa: Vua Yudhiṣṭhira bắn trúng thân Śalya bằng sáu mươi mũi tên. Sau đó Bhīmasena làm hắn bị thương bằng bảy mươi mũi, Sātyaki bằng chín mũi, rồi Yudhiṣṭhira lại bắn thêm sáu mươi mũi nữa. Trong kỷ luật nghiệt ngã của chiến địa, các Pāṇḍava dồn ép cuộc công kích với ý chí đo lường và kiên quyết, đặt tình riêng xuống dưới đòi hỏi khắc nghiệt của bổn phận nơi chiến tranh.
