nārada uvāca | kathayiṣye sabhāṃ yāmyāṃ yudhiṣṭhira nibodha tām | vaivasvatasya yāṃ pārtha viśvakarmā cakāra ha ||
Nārada nói: “Hỡi Yudhiṣṭhira, con của Kuntī, hãy lắng nghe cho kỹ. Nay ta sẽ thuật về đại sảnh của Yama, con của Vivasvān. Triều đình huy hoàng, nghiêm trang và khiến người kính sợ ấy do chính Viśvakarmā tạo tác.”
नारद उवाच
The verse foregrounds dharma through setting: Yama’s court symbolizes moral accountability and cosmic justice, and Narada’s invitation to “listen and understand” frames the description as instruction about order, consequence, and righteous governance.
Narada begins a new descriptive section addressed to Yudhiṣṭhira, announcing that he will narrate the splendor and nature of Yama’s assembly-hall, noting that it was constructed by the divine architect Viśvakarmā.
