सभा-पर्व, अध्याय ६१ — द्रौपदी-प्रश्नः, सभाधर्मः, सत्यवचन-नियमः
मेरे पास हजारों निष्कोंसे- भरी हुई बहुत-सी सुन्दर पेटियाँ रखी हैं। इसके सिवा खजाना है, अक्षय धन है और अनेक प्रकारके सुवर्ण हैं। राजन! मेरा यह सब धन दाँवपर लगा दिया गया। मैं इसीके द्वारा तुम्हारे साथ खेलता हूँ ।।
vaiśampāyana uvāca | kauravāṇāṁ kulakaraṁ jyeṣṭhaṁ pāṇḍavam acyutam | ity uktaḥ śakuniḥ prāha jitam ity eva taṁ nṛpam ||
Vaiśampāyana nói: Khi vua Yudhiṣṭhira—trưởng tử của nhà Pāṇḍava, bậc hậu duệ ưu tú của dòng Kuru, người không hề lệch khỏi khuôn phép—đã nói như vậy, Śakuni chỉ đáp với vị quân vương ấy một câu: “Thắng—ván này nữa ta cũng thắng.”
