सभा-पर्व, अध्याय ६१ — द्रौपदी-प्रश्नः, सभाधर्मः, सत्यवचन-नियमः
सुदान्ता राजवहना: सर्वशब्दक्षमा युधि । ईषादन्ता महाकाया: सर्वे चाष्टकरेणव:,युधिष्ठिरने कहा--मेरे पास दस हजार श्रेष्ठ रथ और छकड़े हैं। जिनमें छोटे-बड़े वाहन सदा जुटे ही रहते हैं ।।
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |
sudāntā rājavahanāḥ sarvaśabdakṣamā yudhi |
īṣādantā mahākāyāḥ sarve cāṣṭakareṇavaḥ |
evaṃ varṇasya varṇasya samuccīya sahasraśaḥ |
yathā samuditā vīrāḥ sarve vīraparākramāḥ ||
Yudhiṣṭhira nói: “Ta có những xa giá hoàng gia được huấn luyện thuần thục—chiến xa và xe kéo—chịu nổi mọi mệnh lệnh giữa cơn dồn ép của chiến trận; ách xe vững chắc, thân xe đồ sộ, đều hợp cho đội tám ngựa. Cũng vậy, từ mỗi giai tầng, hàng nghìn chiến binh tinh tuyển được tập hợp và nuôi dưỡng cùng nhau dưới quyền ta—tất thảy là bậc dũng sĩ, đầy đủ khí phách anh hùng.”
