taṁ tathā samare karma kurvāṇam aparājitam | parivavruḥ maheṣvāsāḥ pāṇḍavānāṁ mahārathāḥ ||
Sañjaya nói: Khi chàng vẫn tiếp tục lập chiến công giữa trận mạc, không hề bị khuất phục, các đại xa chiến binh của phe Pāṇḍava—những cung thủ hùng mạnh—đã vây quanh vị anh hùng bất khả chiến bại ấy từ mọi phía.
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights the tension between individual valor and collective responsibility in war: even an undefeated hero must be checked when his actions endanger the larger cause, and coordinated effort becomes a legitimate means to restore balance while still recognizing martial excellence.
Sañjaya reports that an unconquered warrior, actively displaying prowess in battle, is encircled from all sides by the Pāṇḍavas’ foremost chariot-warriors—mighty archers—indicating a tactical move to contain or neutralize a dominant fighter.
