हिरण्यवर्मा निशितै: पृषत्कै- स्तवात्मजानामनिलात्मजो वै । अतापयत्‌ सैन्यमतीव भीम: काले शुचौ मध्यगतो यथार्क:

Transliteration

sañjaya uvāca |

hiraṇyavarmā niśitaiḥ pṛṣatkaiḥ tavātmajānām anilātmajo vai |

atāpayat sainyam atīva bhīmaḥ kāle śucau madhyagato yathārkaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya nói: Bhīma, con của Thần Gió, khoác giáp vàng, đã dùng những mũi tên sắc nhọn thiêu đốt quân đội của các con ngài, khiến chúng khổ sở vô cùng—như mặt trời giữa trưa trong mùa trời quang đổ lửa dữ dội. Hình ảnh ấy nhấn mạnh sức công phá áp đảo của Bhīma, gần như không thể tránh né trên chiến địa.
