अद्य त्वामनुपश्यामि कर्ण हत्वा महीपते | सभाजयितुमाक्रन्दादिति सत्यं ब्रवीमि ते,भूपाल! आज मैं कर्णको मारकर ही आपका दर्शन करूँगा और युद्धस्थलसे आपका अभिनन्दन करनेके लिये आऊँगा। यह मैं आपसे सत्य कहता हूँ
adya tvām anupaśyāmi karṇa hatvā mahīpate | sabhājayitum ākrandād iti satyaṁ bravīmi te ||
Arjuna thưa: “Tâu Đại vương, hôm nay thần chỉ đến yết kiến bệ hạ sau khi đã hạ sát Karṇa. Rồi từ giữa tiếng gào thét náo động của chiến địa, thần sẽ tiến đến để dâng lời bái kính. Điều ấy thần nói với bệ hạ bằng sự thật.”
