येनैव ते पितुर्दत्तं यतमानस्य संयुगे । अश्वत्थामाके ऐसा कहनेपर प्रतापी धृष्टद्युम्नने उससे इस प्रकार उत्तर दिया--“अरे! तेरी इस बातका जवाब तुझे मेरी वही तलवार देगी

Transliteration

yenaiva te pitur dattaṃ yatamānasya saṃyuge |

Translation

Sañjaya nói: “Chính bằng thứ (vũ khí) ấy, thứ đã hạ gục phụ thân ngươi khi ông ta đang gắng sức vì chiến thắng nơi trận mạc…” Nghe Aśvatthāmā nói vậy, Dhṛṣṭadyumna đầy uy lực đáp: “Này! Lời ấy của ngươi sẽ được trả lời bằng chính thanh gươm của ta—thanh gươm đã từng trả lời phụ thân ngươi trên chiến địa.”
