अश्वास्तरपरिस्तोमान् राड़कवान् पतितान् भुवि । 'घुड़सवारोंकी ध्वजाओंके अग्रभागमें हाथियोंके सुनहरे कंबल उलझ गये हैं। घोड़ोंकी पीठपर बिछाये जानेवाले विचित्र

aśvāstara-paristomān rāḍakavān patitān bhuvi |
Sañjaya nói: “Hãy nhìn—trên mặt đất nằm la liệt những đồ trang sức và yên cương của ngựa và la, những tấm phủ lộng lẫy và vật trang hoàng từng làm chúng thêm uy nghi. Trong cơn hỗn loạn của chiến trận, những lá cờ kiêu hãnh và những bộ áo giáp phủ ngựa đắt giá đã rối quấn vào nhau rồi bị quăng xuống, cho thấy sự phô trương võ bị sụp đổ nhanh đến thế nào khi bạo lực nhấn chìm trật tự.”
