Adhyāya 18 — Sequential Duels and Formation Pressure
Ulūka–Yuyutsu; Śakuni–Sutasoma; Kṛpa–Dhṛṣṭadyumna; Kṛtavarmā–Śikhaṇḍin
साश्चपत्तिद्विपरथं महाशस्त्रौ्सम्प्लवम् | सहसा संतितीर्षन्तं पार्थ शस्त्रास्त्रसेतुना
sāśvapattidviparathaṁ mahāśastraughasamplavam | sahasā santitīrṣantaṁ pārtha śastrāstrasētunā ||
Sañjaya nói: Arjuna (Pārtha), thấy đạo quân mênh mông—đầy voi, ngựa, chiến xa và bộ binh, lại phồng lên như lũ bởi dòng vũ khí lớn—muốn lập tức vượt qua “biển quân” ấy bằng một cây cầu dựng từ chính tên và binh khí của mình. Khi đó, Śrī Kṛṣṇa bảo chàng: “Hỡi Pārtha vô tội, sao lại coi như trò đùa? Hãy diệt bọn Saṁśaptaka này trước, rồi mau chóng và kiên quyết dốc sức cho cái chết của Karṇa.”
