निर्वेष्ठ भर्तृपिण्डं हि कालोडयमुपजीविनाम् । सूक्ष्मो विवादो विप्राणां स्थूलौ क्षात्रौो जयाजयौ
nirveṣṭa-bhartṛpiṇḍaṃ hi kālo ’yam upajīvinām | sūkṣmo vivādo viprāṇāṃ sthūlau kṣātrau jayājayau ||
Sañjaya nói: “Với những kẻ sống nhờ nương tựa một minh chủ, đây chính là lúc làm cho bát cơm của người che chở mình trở nên có nghĩa—bằng cách đứng vững vì đại nghĩa của ngài. Tranh luận của Bà-la-môn thì tinh vi, được phân xử bằng trí tuệ và lý lẽ; còn với Sát-đế-lỵ, thắng bại là thô hiện và hiển nhiên, quyết định bởi vũ khí nơi chiến địa.”
