Educational Q&A

A ruler’s moral failure—favoritism, envy, and deceit—destabilizes dharma and invites catastrophic consequences; the narrative frames the war as arising when such entrenched adharma is clearly recognized and allowed to reach its inevitable outcome.

Sañjaya addresses the blind king (Dhṛtarāṣṭra), stating that Kṛṣṇa discerned the king’s biased and hostile intent toward the Pāṇḍavas and, seeing his lack of virtue and confusion about dharma, proceeded to bring about the great Kaurava–Pāṇḍava war.
