एक एव च बीभत्सु: प्रविष्टस्तात भारतीम्‌ । अविषह्ाां महाबाहु: सुरैरपि महाहवे

Transliteration

yudhiṣṭhira uvāca | eka eva ca bībhatsuḥ praviṣṭas tāta bhāratīm | aviṣahyāṃ mahābāhuḥ surair api mahāhave, vārṣṇeya! na jānāmi, asmin samaye tāvat arjunaḥ jīvitaḥ vā na vā | mahāsamare yasya vegaṃ sahiṣṇuṃ kartum devatānām api aśakyam, kauravāṇāṃ sā senā samudra-samāna-viśālā | tāta! tasyāṃ kauravī-senāyāṃ mahābāhur arjunaḥ eko 'pi praviṣṭaḥ ||

Translation

Yudhiṣṭhira nói: “Hỡi người thân yêu, Bībhatsu (Arjuna) đã một mình xông vào quân trận Kaurava. Trong đại chiến ấy, sức mạnh của chàng thật không ai chịu nổi—kể cả chư thiên. Thế nhưng, hỡi Vārṣṇeya, ta không biết lúc này Arjuna còn sống hay không. Quân Kaurava mênh mông như biển; và vào biển quân ấy, Arjuna tay mạnh đã một mình lao xuống.”
