नदीं प्रावर्तयामास रक्षोगणसमाकुलाम्‌ । वहन्तीं बहुधा राजंश्वेदिपडणचालसूञ्जयान्‌

sañjaya uvāca |

nadīṁ prāvartayāmāsa rakṣogaṇasamākulām |

vahantīṁ bahudhā rājan cedipaṇḍanacālasūñjayān ||

Sañjaya nói: Tâu Đại vương, hắn đã làm dâng lên một dòng sông—đầy rẫy bầy rākṣasa—hết lần này đến lần khác cuốn phăng người Cedi, Pāṇḍava, Pāñcāla và Śṛñjaya.
