अमृदनात् समरे नाग: सम्प्रधावंस्ततस्तत: । उस हाथीने अत्यन्त कुपित होकर रथके समूहों
amṛdanāt samare nāgaḥ sampradhāvaṃs tatastataḥ | tena saṃloḍyamānaṃ tu pāṇḍavānāṃ balaṃ mahat ||
Sañjaya nói: Giữa chiến trận, con chiến tượng lớn ấy nổi giận dữ dội, lao chạy khắp nơi, giẫm nát và nghiền vỡ các cụm chiến xa, voi, kỵ binh cùng ngựa, cả hàng trăm hàng nghìn bộ binh. Bởi đà xông của nó, đại quân Pāṇḍava bị khuấy đảo dữ dội, đội ngũ rối loạn tan tác.
