sa bhīmaṁ śaradhārābhis tāḍayāmāsa pārthivaḥ | parvataṁ vāridhārābhis tapānte jalado yathā ||

Sañjaya nói: Vua Bhagadatta đánh Bhīma bằng những dòng mũi tên liên miên, hành hạ chàng—như mây mưa cuối hạ đổ thác nước xuống đỉnh núi.

Educational Q&A

The verse highlights the battlefield ethic of steadfast endurance under overwhelming pressure: a warrior’s resolve is measured not only by striking power but by the capacity to remain unshaken when assailed relentlessly.

Sañjaya describes Bhagadatta repeatedly striking Bhīma with dense volleys of arrows, comparing the arrow-storm to a rain-cloud pouring torrents on a mountain at summer’s end.
