भीमसेन-दुर्योधन-समागमः

एवमेते महेष्वासास्तावका: पाण्डवै: सह । समेत्य समरे शूरा: सम्प्रहारं प्रचक्रिरे,इस प्रकार ये आपके महाधनुर्धर शूरवीर योद्धा पाण्डवोंके साथ समरभूमिमें युद्ध करने लगे

evam ete maheṣvāsās tāvakāḥ pāṇḍavaiḥ saha | sametya samare śūrāḥ samprahāraṃ pracakrire ||

Sañjaya nói: Thế rồi, những cung thủ hùng mạnh của phe ngài, các dũng sĩ nơi chiến địa, đã gặp quân Pāṇḍava trên chiến trường và bắt đầu cuộc giao kích dữ dội. Câu kệ nhấn mạnh cuộc đụng độ không thể tránh giữa người thân trong một xung đột làm rạn vỡ dharma: dũng khí thì không thể phủ nhận, nhưng cái giá đạo lý của cuộc chiến huynh đệ tương tàn vẫn lặng lẽ phủ bóng phía sau.
