भीष्मपर्व — अध्याय ६२: वासुदेवमहात्म्यप्रशंसा (देव–ब्रह्मसंवादः)
यत्र यत्र सुतस्तुभ्यं यं यं पश्यति भारत । तत्र तत्र न्यवर्तन्त क्षत्रियाणां महारथा:,भारत! आपका पुत्र दुर्योधन जहाँ-जहाँ जिस-जिसकी ओर दृष्टिपात करता, वहीं- वहींसे ऐसे योद्धा भी लौट आते थे जो क्षत्रियोंमें महारथी थे
yatra yatra sutas tubhyaṃ yaṃ yaṃ paśyati bhārata | tatra tatra nyavartanta kṣatriyāṇāṃ mahārathāḥ ||
Sañjaya nói: “Hỡi Bhārata, nơi nào con trai ngài đưa mắt nhìn—nhìn về phía ai—thì ngay tại đó, các đại xa chiến sĩ trong hàng Kṣatriya đều quay trở lại.” Câu này nhấn mạnh rằng ánh nhìn dò xét đầy lo âu và quyền lệnh của Duryodhana đã chi phối bước tiến và tinh thần của cả những chiến binh kiệt xuất giữa cảnh hỗn mang chiến trận.
