Bhīṣma–Dhanaṃjaya Duel and the Opening Clash

प्रविवेश ततो मध्यं नरसिंह: प्रतापवान्‌ । तेषां महारथानां स मध्यं प्राप्प धनंजय:

Transliteration

praviveśa tato madhyaṁ narasiṁhaḥ pratāpavān | teṣāṁ mahārathānāṁ sa madhyaṁ prāpya dhanañjayaḥ ||

Translation

Sañjaya thưa: Rồi bấy giờ, vị anh hùng oai dũng, như sư tử giữa loài người, lao thẳng vào giữa trận. Dhanañjaya (Arjuna), đã đến trung tâm của những đại chiến xa ấy, liền xông sâu vào tận tim đội hình, không hề nao núng.
