जो ग्यारह रुद्र और बारह आदित्य तथा आठ वसु, साध्यगण, विश्वेदेव, अश्विनीकुमार तथा मरुदगणर्& और पितरोंका समुदाय तथा गन्धर्व, यक्ष, राक्षस और सिद्धोंके समुदाय हैं, वे सब ही विस्मित होकर आपको देखते हैं ।। रूप॑ महत् ते बहुवक्त्रनेत्रं महाबाहो बहुबाहूरुपादम् । बहूदरं बहुदंष्टाकरालं दृष्टवा लोका: प्रव्यथितास्तथाहम्,हे महाबाहो! आपके बहुत मुख और नेत्रोंवाले, बहुत हाथ, जंघा और पैरोंवाले, बहुत उदरोंवाले और बहुत-सी दाढ़ोंके कारण अत्यन्त विकराल महान् रूपको देखकर सब लोग व्याकुल हो रहे हैं तथा मैं भी व्याकुल हो रहा हूँ [
arjuna uvāca | ye caiva rudrā ekādaśa dvādaśādityās tathā vasavo 'ṣṭau | sādhyā viśve 'śvinau marutaś ca uṣmapāś ca gandharva-yakṣāsura-siddha-saṅghāḥ | dṛṣṭvā lokaḥ pravyathitas tathāham || rūpaṁ mahat te bahu-vaktra-netraṁ mahābāho bahu-bāhūru-pādam | bahūdaraṁ bahu-daṁṣṭrā-karālaṁ dṛṣṭvā lokāḥ pravyathitās tathāham ||
Arjuna thưa: Mười một Rudra, mười hai Āditya, tám Vasu, các Sādhyas, các Viśvedevas, đôi Aśvin, các Marut, đoàn thể tổ tiên, cùng vô số Gandharva, Yakṣa, Rākṣasa và Siddha—tất thảy đều nhìn Ngài trong kinh ngạc. Thấy hình tướng vĩ đại của Ngài, ô bậc dũng lực—với vô số miệng và mắt, vô số tay, đùi và chân, vô số bụng, và ghê rợn bởi muôn vàn nanh nhọn—các thế giới đều run rẩy vì sợ hãi, và con cũng vậy.
