Educational Q&A

Even in war’s turmoil, a dharmic warrior must recover clarity and act with awareness of kāla (the right time). The ‘divine voice’ motif underscores that human action is not morally neutral: events unfold under a larger ethical and cosmic witness.

Sañjaya reports that Bhīṣma, after considering the proper moment, regains composure; immediately afterward a celestial voice is heard from all directions in the sky, signaling an extraordinary, omen-like intervention or proclamation.
