अप्रधृष्यमनावार्य सर्वशस्त्रभूृतां वरम् द्रौणिं प्रति ययौ यत्त: पाउचाल्य: सह सोदरै:
sañjaya uvāca |
apradhṛṣyam anāvāryaṁ sarvaśastrabhṛtāṁ varam |
drauṇiṁ prati yayau yatnaḥ pāñcālyaḥ saha sodaraiḥ ||
Sañjaya nói: Dṛṣṭadyumna xứ Pāñcāla, cùng các em trai, dốc sức tiến lên đánh Aśvatthāmā, con của Droṇa—một chiến binh không thể khuất phục, không thể ngăn cản, bậc nhất trong hàng người mang vũ khí. Khoảnh khắc ấy cho thấy trong cơn chiến trận, ý chí và đòn tiến công vì bổn phận va chạm với thực tại về sức mạnh ghê gớm của đối phương.
