Adhyāya 108 — Nimitta-darśana and Drona’s counsel amid Arjuna’s advance (निमित्तदर्शनं द्रोणोपदेशश्च)
माद्रीपुत्री च सम्भ्रान्ती द्वाभ्यां द्वाभ्यामताडयत् । (पुनः स बहुभिर्बाणैराजघान युधिष्ठिरम् ।) इसके बाद दो-दो बाणोंसे उन्होंने उत्तम कुलमें उत्पन्न माद्रीकुमारोंको घायल किया तथा अनेक बाणोंद्वारा राजा युधिष्ठिरको भी पुनः चोट पहुँचायी
mādrīputrī ca sambhrāntī dvābhyāṁ dvābhyām atāḍayat | (punaḥ sa bahubhir bāṇair ājaghāna yudhiṣṭhiram |)
Sañjaya thưa: Giữa cơn náo loạn của chiến địa, hắn bắn vào các con trai của Mādrī—những vương tử xuất thân cao quý—mỗi lần hai mũi tên, khiến họ bị thương; rồi lại một lần nữa, hắn dùng vô số mũi tên công kích Vua Yudhiṣṭhira. Đoạn này nêu bật sự leo thang không ngừng của bạo lực trong chiến tranh: ngay cả người chính trực cũng bị thương hết lần này đến lần khác, để thử thách sức chịu đựng và sự kiên định với dharma giữa hỗn mang.
