Daśame’hani Bhīṣma-yuddham — Śikhaṇḍī-rakṣaṇa, Arjuna-prabhāva, Duryodhana-āśraya-vākyam
रणे भारत पार्थेन द्रोणो विद्धस्त्रिभि: शरै: | नाचिन्तयच्च तान् बाणान् पार्थचापच्युतान् युधि
raṇe bhārata pārthena droṇo viddhas tribhiḥ śaraiḥ | nācintayac ca tān bāṇān pārthacāpacyutān yudhi, bhārata |
Sañjaya nói: “Hỡi Bhārata, trong trận chiến Droṇa bị Pārtha bắn trúng ba mũi tên; nhưng giữa chiến địa, ông chẳng hề bận tâm đến những mũi tên ấy—những mũi tên rời khỏi cung Arjuna—ý chí vẫn không lay chuyển.”
संजय उवाच
The verse highlights steadiness in the face of pain and pressure: a seasoned warrior (Droṇa) remains mentally unshaken even when wounded, illustrating disciplined focus and endurance expected in kṣatriya conduct during war.
Sañjaya reports to Dhṛtarāṣṭra that Arjuna (Pārtha) strikes Droṇa with three arrows in the battle, but Droṇa does not pay them any attention on the battlefield, continuing his fight without being disturbed.
