वैशम्पायन उवाच
A ruler should honor merit and conclude encounters with generosity and goodwill—bestowing appropriate gifts (dāna) and sending others away respectfully, which sustains dharma and social harmony.
The speaker narrates that the king summons the hero Babhruvāhana, gives him abundant wealth, and then formally dispatches him to return home, marking a courteous and dharmic closure to their interaction.
