पाण्डव-वृष्णि-समागमः तथा अश्वमेध-अनुज्ञा | Reunion at the Kuru Court and Authorization of the Aśvamedha
परिक्षिदिति नामास्य भवत्तित्यब्रवीत् तदा । “कुरुकुलके परिक्षीण हो जानेपर यह अभिमन्युका बालक उत्पन्न हुआ है। इसलिये इसका नाम परिक्षित् होना चाहिये।” ऐसा भगवानने कहा
parīkṣid iti nāmāsya bhavatt ity abravīt tadā |
Vaiśampāyana thưa: Khi ấy, đức Thế Tôn phán: “Hãy đặt tên nó là Parīkṣit.” “Khi dòng Kuru đã bị đẩy đến bờ tuyệt diệt, đứa trẻ này—con của Abhimanyu—lại ra đời; vì thế nó phải mang tên Parīkṣit, kẻ gìn giữ và phục hưng dòng dõi.” Đức Chúa đã nói như vậy.
