Maṇi-Kuṇḍala Retrieval and Entry into Nāgaloka
Chapter 57
The verse highlights confidence in dharmic persuasion: truthful, well-intentioned speech can move a virtuous person to act rightly—here, to give a requested gift—without coercion.
Vaiśaṃpāyana assures a Brahmin that the virtuous woman, having been addressed appropriately and influenced by the speaker’s words, will certainly hand over the earrings; the statement functions as a narrative guarantee of the forthcoming act.
