Marutta–Indra Rivalry and Bṛhaspati’s Priestly Refusal (मरुत्तेन्द्रस्पर्धा—बृहस्पतेः पौरोहित्यनिश्चयः)

वासवो<प्यसुरान्‌ सर्वान्‌ विजित्य च निपात्य च । इन्द्रत्वं प्राप्प लोकेषु ततो वब्रे पुरोहितम्‌

vāsavo 'py asurān sarvān vijitya ca nipātya ca | indratvaṃ prāpya lokeṣu tato vavre purohitam ||

Vyāsa nói: “Vāsava (Indra) cũng vậy: sau khi chinh phục toàn thể A-tu-la và quật ngã họ, Ngài đạt được ngôi vị tối thượng của Indra giữa các cõi. Rồi sau đó, Ngài chọn một vị tế sư (purohita).”
