वायुदेव उवाच
The verse teaches that the world is sustained by an ordered distribution of powers: specific deities preside over specific domains (healing herbs, strength, forms, animals). Recognizing this order encourages reverence and disciplined conduct aligned with dharma.
Vāyu is speaking and enumerates the presiding lords of different cosmic categories—Soma over herbs, Viṣṇu over the mighty, Tvaṣṭṛ over forms, and Śiva over animals—framing a theological mapping of the universe’s governance.
