सप्तहोतृ-विधानम् एवं इन्द्रिय–मनःसंवादः

बहूनपि हि संकल्पान् मत्वा स्वप्लानुपास्य च बुभुक्षया पीड्यमानो विषयानेव धावति,बहुत-से संकल्पोंका मनन और स्वप्लोंका आश्रय लेकर भोग भोगनेकी इच्छासे पीड़ित हुआ प्राणी विषयोंकी ओर ही दौड़ता है
bahūn api hi saṅkalpān matvā svaplān upāsya ca bubhukṣayā pīḍyamāno viṣayān eva dhāvati
Vì, sau khi ôm ấp nhiều toan tính và bám víu vào những giấc mộng, con người—bị cơn thèm khát giày vò—chỉ lao về phía các đối tượng của giác quan. Tâm cho thấy dục vọng, được nuôi bằng những kế hoạch tưởng tượng và những phóng chiếu như mộng, đã đẩy người ta rời xa sự vững chãi để chạy theo khoái lạc mong manh.
