आयु:क्षयपरीतात्मा विपरीतानि सेवते । बुद्धिव्यावर्तते चास्य विनाशे प्रत्युपस्थिते

āyuḥkṣayaparītātmā viparītāni sevate | buddhivyāvartate cāsya vināśe pratyupasthite ||

Bậc Siddha nói: “Khi nội tâm bị bao phủ bởi sự suy tàn của thọ mạng, con người bắt đầu theo đuổi điều trái nghịch với lợi ích chân thật của mình. Và khi sự hoại diệt đến gần, trí hiểu của họ quay lệch—phán đoán bị đảo ngược—khiến họ bám chặt vào những nẻo đường gây hại đúng vào lúc họ cần sự sáng suốt nhất.”
