अध्याय १५ (Āśramavāsika-parva): धृतराष्ट्रस्य वनवासानुज्ञायाचनम् — Dhṛtarāṣṭra’s renewed plea for consent to forest-dwelling

Educational Q&A

The verse urges sustained, excellent charity (dāna) as a dharmic duty, performed collectively with one’s brothers, extending generosity even toward Karṇa—signaling ethical largeness, remembrance, and reconciliation beyond past enmity.

Vaiśampāyana continues advising a heroic figure addressed as “mahābāho/arimardana,” instructing him to keep giving superior gifts regularly, together with his brothers, and specifically to make offerings also in Karṇa’s name (the Sun-born).
