Kāla (Right Time), Effort, and the Ethics of Giving — कालः, प्रयत्नः, दानधर्मश्च

ब्राह्मण्यं देवि सम्प्राप्य रक्षितव्यं यतात्मना । योनिप्रतिग्रहादानै: कर्मभिश्न शुचिस्मिते

brāhmaṇyaṁ devi samprāpya rakṣitavyaṁ yatātmanā | yonipratigrahadānaiḥ karmabhiś ca śucismite ||

Maheshvara nói: “Hỡi Nữ thần, bậc ‘nụ cười thanh khiết’, một khi đã đạt được địa vị và phẩm giá Bà-la-môn thì phải gìn giữ bằng tự chế. Với tâm và các căn được điều phục, hãy bảo hộ địa vị ấy bằng sự thanh tịnh trong dòng sinh và hạnh kiểm, thanh tịnh trong việc nhận thí, thanh tịnh trong việc bố thí, và bằng các hành vi chính thiện.”
