वैशम्पायन उवाच
As a chapter-colophon, the verse itself teaches by framing: it closes the Yayāti episode within the origins-focused Sambhava Parva, reminding the reader that personal choices—especially those driven by desire—belong to a larger moral and genealogical continuum where actions bear consequences across generations.
Vaiśampāyana signals that the Yayāti sub-narrative has concluded and that the eighty-second chapter of the Sambhava Parva (within the Ādi Parva) is complete, preparing the text to move on to the next section.
