असावादित्यसंकाशो विश्वामित्रो महातपा: । तप्यमानस्तपो घोरं मम कम्पयते मन:,“मेनके! अप्सराओंके जो दिव्य गुण हैं, वे तुममें सबसे अधिक हैं। कल्याणि! तुम मेरा भला करो और मैं तुमसे जो बात कहता हूँ, सुनो। वे सूर्यके समान तेजस्वी, महातपस्वी विश्वामित्र घोर तपस्यामें संलग्न हो मेरे मनको कम्पित कर रहे हैं

Transliteration

asāv ādityasaṅkāśo viśvāmitro mahātapāḥ | tapyamānas tapo ghoraṃ mama kampayate manaḥ ||

Translation

Kaṇva nói: «Viśvāmitra kia—rực rỡ như mặt trời, bậc đại khổ hạnh—nay đang hành trì một sự tu khổ hạnh dữ dội, khiến lòng ta rung động. Menakā, trong hàng các apsaras, những sự xuất chúng thần diệu hội tụ nơi nàng nhiều nhất. Hỡi người cát tường, hãy làm điều lợi cho ta; hãy nghe lời ta.»
