The verse highlights steadfast courage: even when assailed by powerful opponents (the gods), Garuḍa does not collapse into fear but projects resolve. Ethically, it underscores endurance and inner strength—meeting adversity without surrendering one’s purpose.
In the Garuḍa episode, Garuḍa is being attacked by the assembled gods. Despite their blows, he roars loudly in the sky like a massive rain-cloud, and his terrifying sound causes fear among all beings.
