Educational Q&A

The verse teaches apramāda—careful vigilance and freedom from negligence—especially when entrusted with something consequential. Ethically, it frames pregnancy (and by extension any duty) as a sacred responsibility whose outcomes affect the wider world.

Sage Kaśyapa addresses Vinatā again, instructing her to carry her pregnancy with great care, because the child to be born will be a source of major uplift and prosperity. It functions as a prophetic reassurance and a directive for disciplined conduct.
