तद् बुद्ध्वा भृशसंतप्तो देवराज: शतक्रतुः । जगाम शरण तत्र कश्यपं संशितव्रतम्,उनका यह संकल्प सुनकर सौ यज्ञोंका अनुष्ठान पूर्ण करनेवाले देवराज इन्द्रको बड़ा संताप हुआ और वे कठोर व्रतका पालन करनेवाले कश्यपजीकी शरणमें गये
tad buddhvā bhṛśa-saṃtapto devarājaḥ śatakratuḥ | jagāma śaraṇaṃ tatra kaśyapaṃ saṃśita-vratam ||
Nghe được lời thệ nguyện ấy, Indra—thiên vương, bậc nổi danh là Śatakratu, người đã hoàn tất trăm tế lễ—vô cùng bứt rứt và đau đáu. Để cầu phương kế, ngài đến nương tựa nơi hiền triết Kaśyapa, người kiên định trong các giới nguyện khổ hạnh.
