Garuḍa–Śakra Saṃvāda and the Retrieval of Amṛta (गरुड–शक्र संवादः अमृत-अपहरण-प्रसङ्गः)
सौतिरुवाच ततः प्रसादयामास कश्यप: पुत्रकारणात् | वालखिल्यान् महाभागांस्तपसा हतकल्मषान्,उग्रश्रवाजी कहते हैं--तदनन्तर पुत्रके लिये महर्षि कश्यपने तपस्यासे निष्पाप हुए महाभाग वालखिल्य मुनियोंको इस प्रकार प्रसन्न किया
Sautir uvāca: tataḥ prasādayāmāsa Kaśyapaḥ putra-kāraṇāt | Vālakhilyān mahābhāgāṁs tapasā hata-kalmaṣān ||
Sauti nói: Sau đó, vì mong có được một người con, hiền giả Kaśyapa tìm cách cầu được ân thuận của các bậc tiên tri Vālakhilya đầy phúc phần—những vị đã thiêu sạch cấu uế bằng khổ hạnh—và làm họ hoan hỷ theo cách ấy.
कश्यप उवाच
Desires such as progeny are to be pursued through dharmic means—humility, reverence toward the spiritually accomplished, and reliance on tapas and blessing rather than coercion or adharma. The verse also underscores the ethical ideal that true authority comes from purification (hata-kalmaṣa) gained by austerity.
After a preceding development, Kaśyapa, wishing for a son, approaches and propitiates the Vālakhilya sages—renowned ascetics purified by tapas—seeking their favor and likely their blessing or assistance in fulfilling his aim.
