कर्णस्य मन्त्रः — Duryodhana-प्रति नीति-विचारः
Karna’s Counsel on Strategy toward the Pāṇḍavas
एष न: समयो राजन् रत्नस्यथ सह भोजनम् | न च तं हातुमिच्छाम: समयं राजसत्तम,महाराज! हम लोगोंमें यह शर्त हो चुकी है कि रत्नको हम सब लोग बाँटकर एक साथ उपभोग करेंगे। नृपशिरोमणे! हम अपनी उस (पुरानी) शर्तको छोड़ना या तोड़ना नहीं चाहते
yudhiṣṭhira uvāca |
eṣa naḥ samayo rājan ratnasya atha saha bhojanam |
na ca taṃ hātum icchāmaḥ samayaṃ rājasattama ||
Yudhiṣṭhira nói: “Tâu Đại vương, đây là giao ước của chúng thần về viên bảo ngọc ấy: chúng thần sẽ cùng chia phần và cùng hưởng. Tâu bậc vương thượng tối tôn, chúng thần không muốn bỏ hay phá lời thệ ước đó.”
