उच्चैःश्रवसः वर्णविपणः तथा नागशापः

Uccaiḥśravas Color-Wager and the Nāga Curse

अथ पर्वतराजानं तमनन्तो महाबल: । उज्जहार बलाद्‌ ब्रह्मनू सवनं सवनौकसम्‌,ब्रह्म! फिर तो महाबली अनन्तने जोर लगाकर गिरिराज मन्दराचलको वन और वनवासी जन्तुओंसहित उखाड़ लिया

atha parvatarājānaṃ tam ananto mahābalaḥ | ujjahāra balād brahman vanaṃ savanaṃ savanaukasam ||

Śaunaka nói: Bấy giờ, Ananta hùng lực vô song, dốc toàn sức mạnh mà nhổ bật vị “vua của núi” — Mandara — lên khỏi nền đất, cùng với rừng cây và mọi loài sinh vật cư trú trong những khu rừng ấy. Sự việc này nêu bật uy lực thần linh áp đảo được huy động cho mục đích vũ trụ: khi trật tự lớn lao (dharma và công việc của chư thiên) đòi hỏi, ngay cả sự ổn định của tự nhiên cũng có thể bị lay chuyển.
