तस्याथ कामधुग्‌ धेनुर्वसिष्ठस्थ महात्मन: । उक्ता कामान्‌ प्रयच्छेति सा कामान्‌ दुह्मुते सदा,महात्मा वसिष्ठजीके यहाँ एक कामधेनु थी, जो “अमुक-अमुक मनोरथोंको पूर्ण करो' यह कहने-पर सदा उन-उन कामनाओं को पूर्ण कर दिया करती थी

tasyātha kāmadhug dhenur vasiṣṭhasya mahātmanaḥ | uktā kāmān prayaccheti sā kāmān duhmute sadā ||

Bấy giờ, thuộc về Vasiṣṭha đại tâm, có một con bò ban điều ước, Kāmadhuk. Hễ được bảo: “Hãy ban những điều mong cầu này,” nó liền tuôn ra—như sữa—mọi vật người ta xin, không hề dứt. Tình tiết ấy nêu bật quyền năng phi thường đi kèm công đức khổ hạnh, và trách nhiệm hàm chứa trong sự sung túc ấy.
